The only way he kills you is landing W then full-comboing with R: watch for him leaving vision, W-ing, then walking back in.

Oneshot before R
If he doesn't build Mercs you can usually oneshot him before he even reaches R, at roughly 70% HP or lower.

Punish his dive
After level 3, whenever he jumps in just Q→W→E: he's too slow to escape your range even if he procs passive.

Never let him land W from out of vision: it's the one setup that lets his R full-combo actually kill you.

Standard AP drain core: Liandry's Torment + Rylai's Crystal Scepter milk his channeled W for max damage while the slow keeps targets in range, and Zhonya's lets him ult from fog and stasis mid-channel. Flex the third slot to Banshee's Veil, Mercury's Treads, or a Null-Magic Mantle rush into heavy burst.
